Her adaptations are usually fine. Don't think anyone criticized what she did with Aria or Toradora or Wandering Son or Blast of Tempest.

Isekai series can have all sorts of MCs. They don't have to be incredibly cliche!

There's a western fantasy series call The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever where the MC has leprosy and doesn't believe the world he gets transferred to is real, and he ends up raping the first woman he comes across. There's infinite potential for isekais, JP authors usually just don't take advantage of that potential.
