He would have crushed it in 2016 but the economy is too strong now. He still has a chance if he can cast it as, our economy is doing great, shouldn't we be helping out our poorer countrymen? But he would have to jettison the neoliberal dogma prevalent in the Democratic Party and campaign on, essentially, Trump policies plus redistribution of wealth downwards. I doubt Bernie can make the Democratic Party come to its senses the way Trump made the Republican Party come to its senses. He doesn't believe the neoliberal dogma himself, but he's not going to attack and humiliate it the way Trump did to Jeb Bush and the Republican version the neoliberal dogma.
