It follows his ridiculous, pretentious journey through the art world, but really serves as a parable for how susceptible people can be to intellectual group think. I am of the opinion that the ~~documentary itself is a "hoax"--in the sense that it is an art project in itself to comment on the state of the industry~~. Either way, it is wildly entertaining, hysterical, and completely enthralling. And if my speculation is true, it is also one of the smartest, most compelling works of art in the past decade--fooling critics with a movie about fooling critics.
