I generally don't play hardcore games. I briefly did a Minecraft run where I kept generating new seeds until I got an island chain as a starting area and did a Hardcore run there, which was tough slogging to begin, but wound up being pretty fun once I got established.

I once managed to generate a seed where there was like one island with one tree, and everything else was ocean.

It was cool, but the downside was that it didn't have a way to generate grass (and thus no crops, no animals, and no real way to survive without dipping into creative).

If that's the sort of gameplay you enjoy, though, and you play on PC, you should try Sky Factory if you haven't already. It starts you on a single block of dirt with a single tree, and you have to rebuild the entire world from scratch (it has extra mechanics beyond vanilla Minecraft, like being able to turn leaves into dirt and being able to sift dirt to get stone, sand, gravel, and other things).
