The argument isn't that it needs to leave an impact.
It's that, for one of the largest movies ever, it's strange no one ever talks about it.
And the technology and shit was mostly Lucas's ILM, which has always been at the forefront of movie magic and has a monopoly. 3D also didn't take off like it was supposed to and kind of fell off 2-3 years after Avatar.

But that's exactly what's happened. Disney announced Avatar 2-5 for 2021, 2023, 2025 and 2027
That was already the plan before Disney bought Fox. They announced that they were filming 2 and 3 back to back like 2 years ago ---
