That's the point. Cameron didn't take advantage of that, so it fell off the radar fast. Resurrecting it 12 years later is not gonna do much.

Also, ok, so the second best in the industry, Peter Jackson's Weta, did the work. So Lucas and Jackson were more crucial to the only thing that stood out, the technological aspects, than anything Cameron did. More like just evolving with the times and staying ahead like they always have.


Its an odd situation for avatar, its a modern movie, but it will be over 10 years for the sequel to come out

I mean Jurassic Park had a long break between movies (and nothing in between bar maybe videogames), came back successfully (money wise) is probably the only comparison

Who knows, but with avatar bringing out 3D less glasses to theatres, history may repeat again
