No, you don't. I realize a lot of people pronounce it ree-yu, and that is fine for reasons I said earlier. The sound isn't in English so it's hard and whatever you say is fine if people can understand it. But there is no ee sound at all when you say it in Japanese. It's a combination of r and yu. The closest example in English is Kyu (q), but replace the k with r.

Also for those curious, riyu (ree-yu) is a Japanese word meaning reason that is very common. and don't sound similar.
