It's one of those things, like many issues I've had, that I didn't really think much about for a long time because that was just kinda the way it was tbh.

Like how my sibling randomly accidentally sprained or slipped my wrist at times. Sometimes it happened and others not, sometimes it hurt and other times not, and none of the times did it take much. We never thought anything about it, it was just the way I was.


Ah, how familiar! Yes, that tends to be the way it goes with HSD/hEDS. Especially if the hypermobility runs in one's family and you're *used* to seeing people's joints bend the way yours do, so it doesn't occur to you til the chronic pain begins that it might not be "normal". Like bending one's knee backwards til the kneecap's flat on top.
