Very different scenario...

again, selectively choosing what and what not to respond to cause even your own dumb ass somehow knows it's wrong

it's... a bad look

-

and, again, when spoken at the natural pace that actual, native speakers speak at (i.e. not the way they speak to you due to things i've already mentioned), and can sound very similar

sure, context will often give away which one the speaker is speaking, but in isolation, the two words can blur

they're very similar phonetically after all, and morae (and/or whatever else you want to google and ostentatiously bring up) only apply to perfect and deliberate pronunciation

-

also, let me share with you something, bro:

i'm japanese, through my dad (shock!)

while admittedly not fluent, i can speak and intonate japanese with a native accent since i've been to japan so many times since infancy (but otherwise, i'm american born-and-raised, so i speak english natively and fluently)

and because i make super smart decisions in life, i was a japanese major in college

every time we had to introduce ourselves, my professors always called me out and questioned why i was in their class (yes, that's how good my accent is if you needed proof or whatever)

-

i also took a linguistics class, where one day we very specifically went over what sounds are and aren't possible in english

while most obviously can't replicate the native japanese accent, the correct pronunciation is 95% doable by any native english speaker who isn't intellectually and/or linguistically challenged - as i've mentioned many times already, the sounds are there in english

not that you even need to be formally educated on this type of thing to know that, but there you go

-

and lastly, though slightly off-topic, something that anybody who's been around people who're into japan will tell you is that 99% of people who are into japan are complete spazzes

like, it explains you misinterpreting my posts as being super angry in tone

it explains you taking valid criticism poorly

it explains you writing things like "top kek"

and it also explains you speaking with a gross, undeserved confidence on shit you don't know, which in turn speaks to an even larger problem of a general lack of self-awareness (aside from aforementioned dumb ass recognizing it's dumb) that is super common with your ilk

like, dude, you are a complete stereotype, and i only had posts of yours on an internet forum to go by

imagine being that easily discernible a person, for real

-

but anyway, tldr:

- @ssjevot doesn't know what he's talking about

- ryu is just "ryoo", or the word "view" but with an "r"

- it's your prerogative to pronounce the name however you want, but to keep mispronouncing it despite knowledge of the correct pronunciation is... weird
