I'd say this does a bit of a disservice to Get Out, though. Yes, it's a very fun popcorn movie, but as a straight white male, it unnerved me on a deeper, more piercing level than that. I would say it at least deserves a first watch alone and sober (for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, ofc) before you proceed to the whole 'hanging out with friends' thing. Also, based on your "few months later" quote about your favorite animated movie of 2018, I guess it's not Spider-Verse.
