Miles Edgeworth (Ace Attorney series) When you first meet Edgeworth, he seems like he is going to be the main antagonist for the first game. He's cold, cocky, and prides himself on his winning streak in court. However, at a certain point during the third case, he realizes that Phoenix's client is innocent and starts dismantling his own case in order to prove who the real killer is, because unlike his mentor, he prioritizes actual justice over perfection. In the fourth case, Edgeworth's own dark past is revealed, and with the help of his old friends Phoenix and Larry, removes a huge weight off his shoulders that has haunted him for fifteen years. As the series progresses, Edgeworth's relationship with Phoenix becomes more and more complex as the two work toward the same goal from different angles, and Edgeworth evolves into a hero in his own right. ---
