"Soup should be good," you say. "We need to boil water for later anyway."

You look at what there is for soup, and find plenty of spare vegetables. You chop up carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, and throw in peas and loose corn, with some dized yellow onion, all to boil in a pot. As you stir, you season with salt and pepper for extra zest.

Meanwhile, Raven mashes blueberries, blackberries, red currants, black currants, red grapes, and raspberries into jams in respective bowls.

"Is this the right consistency?" Raven asks.

"Yes, that's good," you say. "And don't feel you have to mash all of them. If there are leftover berries, they can be used as garnish alongside the watercress. Oh, and, let's see... Oh, yes, we need to add a little bit of white wine vinegar to the blueberry jam and a bit of red wine to the red grape jam, for when we mix all of these together to make the berry sauce."

"Ooo, right," Raven says.

"I will handle the wines," Jacintha says.

Jacintha goes to the cabinet and takes a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white and brings them over to the counter. She pours just a splash of each into the respective bowls, and Raven stirs until the wines blend with the jams.

"Let's refrigerate all of these while we have lunch," you say.

The water on the soup boils while Jacintha helps Raven store the jams. You serve two big bowls of the soup for you and Raven to have at the table.

"So what will we do until dinner?" Raven asks before blowing on the soup.

"Well, probably not too much," you say. "Again, we'll be preparing 36 separate cuts of venison, that we also need to cut. Each cut needs to be roasted, pan fried, and then steamed. That means each one will likely take a total of 15 minutes. We can do two at a time to save time, but even then, 18 orders for 15 minutes each, but keeping them fresh for dinner, we'd need to get started no less than four hours before dinner time. Which will be...?"

"At 6," Jacintha says.

"So then at 2, we must begin work," you say. "We each prepare 18 to get through the 36, so that each one gets adequate attention."

"Okay," Raven says. "But how about while we each take 18, when it comes time to roast, fry and steam, we do two each, for four at one time. Cuts the time in half so we only have to do things two hours before the meal."
