Final Fantasy 7 is one of my favorite games of all time.
It was first announced approximately 5 years ago that FF7R was going to PS4 first.
It was also announced initially KH3 was going to be going to just PS4 initially to my best recollection.
KH3 and FF7R are the biggest titles coming from Square.
Since the FF7R initial unveiling. Square released KH3 on Xbox, ported over all PS1 / PS2 era mainline Final Fantasy RPGs, a placeholder for FF7R was listed on Walmart prior to E3 last year and another retailer this year.
This seemed to signify that an Xbox release was coming.
Now, pretty much every site is listing FF7R as Playstation exclusive. Which is annoying to me because I prefer to play third party on Xbox and because all indications were it was coming to Xbox by retailer leaks and trends from Square itself with porting and KH3 coming to Xbox.
that's fair. i get why it's not entirely the same as the analogy. still seems a bit silly to complain about this, especially since you own a PS4, but whatever.
also, i've noticed that fans of games often tend to think that a remake is an inferior disappointment compared to the original (the resident evil 2 remake is a good example of this). so you might not like FFVIIR all that much, even if FFVII is one of your favorite games.
I probably won't for a combination of quality and nostalgia reasons. But, I hella wanna play it. And, I would prefer to play it on Xbox. I bought ffx collection on PS4. I bought ffx12 on PS4. And, I gave my ffxii away and rebought it on Xbox when they announced the Xbox version.
I just prefer the Xbox offerings for third party when possible. It seemed very possible for ff7r by all indications. That's why I am annoyed. ---
