Thanks Cal that was really helpful. Xyz is pretty straightforward and Pendulum isn't so obtuse as I thought.

Last time I played IRL was actually last time I played the vidya too, IIRC. I think Xyz/"Exceeds" were just coming out? My renewed interest was a result of looking through my old decks + cards during some spring cleaning.

I've thought about that too, but I remember so little about those older games that I wouldn't know which one to pick.

I reckon I'll check 'em out starting with GBA and work my way up towards DS/PSP. I'll let you know what's worth playing as I progress.
