CHIKARA Tag Prix 2005: Franco+Turner cut an anti-hardcore promo against Death Match Kings (Pondo+Butcher). I'm kinda inclined towards their side if we're being real, but the one doing the talking kinda stumbled through it. I've heard of Pondo and especially Butcher but never actually seen them in action. Kids sold well and got in a nice hope spot or two. (1/2) CZW (DJ Hyde and Jon Dahmer) promo on CoreyKastleNilesYoung- Dahmer probably should have handled all of the talking. We don't get to hear about favorite superheroes. :( I'm entertained that the CZW guys have to be taught what a tag rope is. Lotta hecklers tonight, or maybe just one really persistent one. Match takes a while to get going, partially because DJ Hyde moves pretty slow. Vets go over and I'm not sure Kastle's neck didn't break on the finish. () Some yelling guy (later identified as UltraMantisBlack) turned on Mister Zero :( to join Night Shift! But Blind Rage is the one to tag with Hallowicked. They'll face Eye Candy. (DJ Skittlez and Private Eye, lol) UMB's voice kinda annoys me but the gimmick is fun otherwise. I like Hallowicked, I think. The heckler(s) keep making Karate Kid jokes for some reason so Hallowicked does a Crane Kick lol. Heels over. () Perfect Strangers (Davis and Sitoci) kinda look and sound like random dudes we grabbed from a local college. Toryumon X has sent Milano Collection AT and Skayde. Milano is...interesting. I've heard of him via EWR- I think he was always really good but always tied up working in Japan? He's got an invisible dog! Wait this is MilanITO apparently. Nice chains from Davis and Milanito. Skayde wins suddenly off a rollup. () Sweet & Sour International v. Men at Work next! I hope it's the WCW jobber team. It'll be Sweeney and Sharecropper. Sweeney is somehow a good enough promo to convince me that this silly corn man is a terrifying monster. He is no longer with us, correct? Regardless, I'm allergic to corn, so Share Cropper is a top heel in my heart. Men at Work aren't Kanyon and Starr (...or ARE THEY???), but they have Mister Zero so I'm okay with 'em. Storm wins with That Japanese Move! (lol) That means more Zero, but not more Sweeney, sadly. () No promo for All Money is Legal v. Team IWS (STEENERICO), but we do get Dave Prazak repeatedly saying to crack the door, and Not Cryme Tyme goofing around during ring entrances. I wanted a Steen promo though. Some tension in the ranks of Steenerico! Imagine. Some small botches but I am nonetheless impressed by gangsta stereotype team #293847, and Steen and Generico are themselves, albeit greener. Steenerico over in a solidly fun match. (1/2) Kingston has no partner but thinks he can take Quack and Hero solo! Too bad, time for another hat gag! Bob Saget still not here :( It's MICKIE KNUCKLES OMG I don't know who that is. I've seen like one match a piece from the men and I am hyped for more. TECHNICAL WRESTLING~~~. I'm entertained by Kingston yelling at Mickie and the ref. Kingston is super entertaining, Mickie and Hero are capable, and Quack I feel like could be working okay with three broomsticks. Hero gets the win and teases a heel turn. I'm hyped for all four of these, and I'm gonna have Redneck Woman stuck in my head now. (*) OK ROUND TWO. BJ+Bear v. Toryumon X. Kingston's on commentary now, excellent. OH NO BEAR IS MAULING THE REF. But have no fear, Bryce is here with hockey gear! BEAR IS CHAIN WRESTLING but he has a headache :( BAH GAWD WE BROKE THE BEAR'S NECK () I'm concerned for Men at Work against Death Match Kings :( Why do they not come out to Takin' Care of Business?
