It might help if you explain how it's better software. Because all I see is a barebones system that isn't even near feature parity with Steam 5 years ago. And despite that, it's still less secure than Steam. And it's kind of hard to have faith in Epic with the way they've been acting so far. Why spend money on software improvements that may or may not increase market share when you can just buy up everything? They don't seem very concerned about these security breaches either. I'm going to need more than blind faith here.

I'm going to be honest, what is this security breach epic store has? As far as I can tell there has been no security breach. It has 2fa as well so i'll need more info on this.

As to why I think the software quality is better, epic store has a very clear roadmap (https://trello.com/b/GXLc34hk/epic-games-store-roadmap) that includes both features and improvements to the code base.

If you look at steams roadmap ( https://steamcommunity.com/groups/steamworks/announcements/detail/1697194621363928453 ) their roadmap kind of sucks.

Nothing on their plans to address bugs that have been around for years (the being "open" but not really forcing me to kill everything) Steam also feels very bloated with many seperate systems stuck together but that don't always feel cohesive.

As a simple example. In steam open up the store, then open up library then open up the store again. You can see the store reloading every time you go to it.

Do the same thing in the epic store and you'll notice that besides the pictures its all pretty much loaded the second time. The store and the library feel like part of the same app. While in steam they feel like two seperate apps in one shell
