22. Beat a fighting game

Injustice: Gods Among Us

- That was rather fun! I liked how Story Mode would increase the difficulty with subsequent wins, but lower it every time you lost. It made for getting through the story pretty fun and was a nice anti-frustration feature.

I was suspect towards the plot of the game ever since it came out and saw pages of the comics modelled after it, but it was actually a pretty good story for the most part. Doesn't feel much different than an Earth-3 story, and really feels a lot like the Justice League Unlimited arc featuring a similar fallen heroes path, with Lois replacing Wally as the instigator. I absolutely LOVED the voicework in this game, and when I played a little bit around with single fights to try out some of the thirty characters, I was pleasantly ecstatic at John Stewart being fully voiced. I mean, I love Jayne Cobb's Hal (not as much as Mal Reynolds' Hal, but better than Angel's Hal from New Frontier), but classic Phil Lamarr John Stewart matching the rest of the cast? Ooh, so good. I don't think there was anyone that wasn't recognizable, except maybe Raven? Was Barry Michael Rosenbaum? I need to look this up now.

Ooh, Neal McDonough, Not a bad choice at all. He made a really good Flash. And Tara Strong was Raven? Wow, unrecognizable with that filter. There were touches to that Joker that didn't feel quite like Mark Hamill, but it was virtually perfection. My god, this voice cast. I was planning on uninstalling after Story Mode was over because I never plan on playing multiplayer, but I may just need to keep it around just for checking out all the costumes and hearing the cast. Excellent work on making the game!

I need to watch JL/U again...

EDIT: Oh, right, and while Story Mode was really good most of the way through, when it came time to play Superman at the end, my suspension of disbelief was shattered and I wondered if the developers just didn't give a shit at the end. Against Black Adam or Sinestro, he just explodes cars with his laser eyes as his opponent grabs them out from the middle of speeding traffic to throw at him. Cars that presumably had people driving and maybe even passengers! It was so stupid and unnecessary and hilariously bad. Like, Superman's going to this world to stop Superman from being a murderous despot and here he is exploding cars who may or may not have passengers when he could just fly over and stop the badguy or catch them or blow them to safety or something, but no, EXPLODE THE CARS! XD. Then the next bit with fighting Doomsday at the Fortress of Solitude? Dude. Doomsday is right there in the background. Like, not even hiding. You can literally hit Doomsday into Doomsday and make "Stop hitting yourself" jokes. Superman's part of the plot was so, so dumb. LOL
