Greed Island was by no means horrible. It's no Yorknew City or Chimera Ants. But it was a really fun arc with a lot of really cool "Fights" also A Kickass Antagonist.
It rewrites the entire laws of nature and removes all the stakes of the series moving forward.
If Ging can basically make it so that any of those cards can be used outside the game as a reward for winning, Nothing matters anymore.
Under the specific condition that they win and beat the game first. They say on multiple occasions how broken nen can be when you add conditions, with it being more power the more specific you are. It's how Kurapika is completely broken and godlike vs A Spider. Or how Gon could completely Godstomp Pito in one shot. Ging can't just pull that shit out of his ass.
The problem is that there is no specification or limit made. Yes they have to win, but the entire game takes place in the real world, on an island. Literally dozens to hundreds of people are using these cards to do all sorts of literally world defying abilities.
The only good parts IMO were Bisky and Hisoka being part of it. Such a huge let down after Yorknew. ---
