Not really true at all. You can buy stuff in the first few towns and then after that there's shops in every other one after that more or less. It's absolutely true. The earliest available items are just hats then iirc bags and shoes. You don't get that much customization until late in the game when, of course, it's already pretty damn late and it's still not a ton of customization. I love Go, but thought that Lets Go was repetitive and not that fun after a while. Do you think Id enjoy a mainline title, or should I stick to Go? Play FireRed/LeafGreen. You owe it to yourself.
