As a bisexual person, I find myself increasingly annoyed with other LGBT people.

Everyone is so political now. People are so convinced that they are on the right side of history that they can't engage in a real discussion. It's all about tossing insults now.

Many people ITT are reacting so strongly and very blatantly disregarding any sort of nuance

Such as ....

"LGBT rights are fine, but I don't like this being aggressively shoved in my face"
"Oh so you think we should be treated like sub human trash?"
" I didn't say that, but ok"

Personally, I get very annoyed how over represented the ultra gay type (queen type gay dudes or butch women) are represented compared to the more traditional gender expression type gay people. It feels like more and more TV shows and movies will have a gay dude character that constantly screams "yyyyyaaaaasssss queen." It's such an annoying stereotype, but they sell this as progressive.

I've always felt weird around gay people, because I don't really fit that stereotyped mold. I've gotten backlash from gay people for appearing too masculine. I say forget them.

Nothing about being LGBT makes you less prone to being judgmental or discriminatory. Some of the most judgmental and discriminatory people I've met have been LGBT. When you realize they are just like everybody else then they don't look so different.

early days so far, but i've got a good feeling this is going to be the smartest post in the topic
