It's less "I'm the real victim" and more "you're not going to help this person at my expense because I don't think they're as victimized as you say".
rhetoric with no substance has never helped the "anti" crowd. they struggle to elaborate, and constantly move the goal post if the context already framed makes them uncomfortable.
that, or they'll completely misconstrue somebody else's point to look as if they're under attack. that's because they take criticism of their criticism as an attack on them.
