Topic	I still cant believe how far off the deep end the pokemon community has gone.

In Gen 3, you didn't have access to all Pokemon from Gen 1 + 2. Instead, there were a few here and there native to Hoenn, and as a bonus you could transfer some in from Pokemon Colosseum. Then they released Fire Red and made it so you could interact between all the games, so you could get all 350 or however many there were total. In theory, if they had left it so that you were restricted to whatever Ruby/Sapphire had and whatever FireRed/LeafGreen had, they could've trained the audience to get used to using mostly native Pokemon and settle for whatever was available in the game.
