Also, so, I listened to the mets AA (amazin avenue... their SB nation blog) podcast this week, and they did a really good job summarizing up almost like my exact feelings in ways I feel like I've never been able to describe before. about not just the whole state of this whole mess lately, but about the overall feelings of everything.

If you have 30 mins or so of downtime or just want to jump around, and you care, I definitely recommend the first 30 mins or so....

If you do care ->

I can also try to give a quick and dirty ...

We can deal with losing games , and losing them badly. we've been doing that all our lives. Losing games is no big deal as long as you have some hope that someday it will turn around and pay off. We don't have that with this group. Not when there's stuff like what just happened this past week, and this stuff occurs several times per season.

There's always fun story lines to follow that make losing seasons enjoyable like deGrom's Cy Young, Alonso and McNeil this year etc.

But ownership-related shit like the other stuff, this kind of non-game related, higher-up, ownership related stuff really sucks all the joy out of EVERYTHING. even the little bits of tiny nuggets you get from the things like i just mentioned. It reminds you not only are we losing but its going to be like this forever, because its part of the pervasive culture of the ownership. And the lack of communication. That there's never any responsibility taken or any communication from ownership (who we know whose fault it is) that they have failed and will take steps to do better. no re-assurance at all , and we just have to deal with it and accept it. And that's hard to do.

Yet we keep rooting for them anyway because the team STILL manages to somehow give us joy. We don't want to let one fucking dipshit (or group of a couple dipshits) steal that joy away from us. I don't want to let the Wilpons rob me of my fandom, because it is still something I will always care and be deeply passionate for.

I think all that is a better summary of everything than I could've ever before put into words myself.
