I believe it's because, game execution code is a series of instructions specifically for the targeted console's CPU, bus, internal architecture, et cetera. But if you're running an emulator, you have to spend a lot of your computer's CPU cycles emulating what the console's CPU would do, which makes the CPU have to do extra work. --- People who don't finish their sentences I'm a Castlevania superfan!
