It's like the Chapter 6 Bonding Events from CS1 in that it counts as a "special event" that unlocks the final bonding event. Though like CS1 it's not the only such event that qualifies. Though IIRC for certain characters not-Class-VII-and-Sara it's the only one so if you want any chance of unlocking their final event hopefully you spend a bond point on them there. Also unlikely CS1, after you beat the game there's an extra menu that lets you view any final bond event you unlocked.
