The problem is more stylistic - the constant cheap jump scares and haphazard screenwriting and characterization for the other characters are my primary gripe. I love Jamie Lee whenever she plays Laurie Strode, and it's quite possible that before the 2018 reboot came out I would have ranked H20 a little higher, but 2018 proved how much better such a thing could be handled by more competent director/screenwriters.
