Fuck this guy, fuck this song, and fuck this part of the game. I almost had a heart attack when I saw Hotti in Apollo Justice but thankfully he didn't stick around. This tries hard to be goofy but is mostly just annoying instead. I'll admit that this is one of the few times where context makes me think a song is worse.

To be honest, SMO's soundtrack seems fairly weak, especially compared to other Mario platformers. This song has never really done it for me at all. It's trying so hard to have personality... and feels soulless. I think cute things like the coin sounds detract from it, somehow. Perversely, it makes the whole thing kind of feel even more by the numbers, like they're forcing nostalgia or something. At least it's better than Lifelight.
