The DARK MASTERS are here. Piedmon one-shots our shiny new Mega pals. Chuumon takes a knife for Mimi and is probably dead. Piximon shows up to vaguely help us escape and is probably dead. We've teleported to the beach, and beat Shellmon and Scorpiomon in two panels. (presumably- we don't even actually see the Scorpiomon fight) MetalSeadramon shows up to beat us all up, but Whamon makes the save. MetalSeadramon sics his squad of Divermon on us. They manage to force us to the surface, but Whamon gets them all. Research indicates that WarGreymon can beat MetalSeadramon (what the manga isn't telling you is that his claws are super effective against that family of Digimon). MetalSeadramon shows up and blows a hole through Whamon, who we actually see bleed and stuff. WarGreymon rips through MetalSeadramon. One down, Puppetmon on deck. My rating: 5/10 Okay NOW we are getting to where the plot is supposed to actually get good, and the pace (and tonal whiplash) is just murdering it. Wizardmon and Whamon have SOME impact, but not nearly as much as they should. We don't even really know Pumpkinmon or Gotsumon or Chuumon or NotAppearingInThisMangaSukamon so there's no reason to care when they get offed, and Piximon isn't much better. It was borderline traumatic watching our awesome high level team get absolutely beat down for like an entire episode, showcasing each of the Dark Masters in turn, and here it's like two hits from a single one of the four.
