Retires after his dad dies and comes back before the baseball strike. I'll fully accept that he came back to basketball as soon as he did largely due to the strike. I'll even believe him when he says he played baseball basically for the fun of it. But he never would have made the majors for any reason other than publicity for the White Sox (which would also be very temporary most likely), and I don't think that given the choice he was ever gonna end his career that way.
