DQV has a higher playrate than it used to but B8 still has a much higher proportional playrate than any other place outside of like...actual Dragon Quest forums. You played the game either by getting a limited run DS port or emulation. B8 went out of their way to play it because Sir Chris (sup) pushed it big time back in the day. It's also on Android/iOs, along with many of the other mainline games.
