Monster Island, A Good Idea on Paper. Round up all the monsters of the world and let them live out their lives in peace far away from civilization.
There may be a few voices here and there who would rather see them all destroyed, and others who believe that their presence is needed across the globe.
Others would even worship them or seek for their power for their own ends. But in the end reason won out over fear and up until this time a calm balance existed between tho all extremes.

Too bad that nobody planned for the aliens.

They came out of nowhere, and started their insidious and unsubtle scheme to take over your planet. They do not dirty their own hands, they would make the monsters fight us.
Their mind control powers began to dominate the minds of the strongest monsters on the island. They in turn would make the rest of the island's inhabitants fall in line and spread the chaos from there.
But as their abilities could not control all monsters at once, there were those who offered resistance. For even a giant beast could have compassion for its 'human pets'.

One such monster cried out as he noticed that something weird was going on, grumbling with remarkably well spoken english at that.
Unfotunately that just caught the attention of the brainwashed masses and they all ganged up on him like a pack of monstrous vultures. A pack of Giant Claws if you will.
The brave little monster on four feet tried his best to fight back, but in the end he just could not withstand the full power of a dozen atomic breaths and laserbeams and poisonous clouds.
Why did they get all the cool powers?

He was Anguirus (Godzilla Raids Again), TOWN Vanilla

Poor Poor Anguirus. Everyone remembers Ghidorah, Mothra, Rodan and even King bloody Kong. But not you. You did not even get a chance to make it to the big screen this year!
Before then you were absent from the entire Heisei era and only made an appearance in the one Millennium movie that practically covered every monster from here to Tokyo.

But before even that, before any of those big wigs you were there! You were the first monster to tangle with the main man Godzilla himself. And nobody can take that away from you!
Alas, even with your spined shell, sharp teeth and powerful tail, you have never claimed a single solo victory. How sad,

You are just a a standard vanilla and you have no powers but your vote.

You win when the last threat to TOWN has been eliminated.

Well this was certainly turning into a mess. Monster against monster with humanity thrown in the middle. Destroy or be destroyed. Whoever wins, it will make for damn fun cinema.
