Saw Once Upon a Time in Hollywood tonight.

Really torn on it. On one hand, it's easily Tarantino's best movie since the Kill Bills. On the other, I really think it could have been even better--and I am annoyed by that.

Spoiling the ending here:

There was no reason to even have the Sharon Tate element of the film. I sort of get that Tarantino was going for the "fairy tale" ending, but the alternative history twist was already done--by him--in Inglorious Basterds. There was really no reason why they had to use the literal Manson Family in order to achieve the same ending. I just left feeling disappointed, honestly. Almost an emotional cop-out.

I'll need to sit on this for awhile.
