"While we're down there," you say, "we could pop into Mexico for just a moment. Haven't been, myself, so I wouldn't mind at least getting a souvenir."

"If only it was closer to Da de Muertos," Raven says. "We could get painted up and be part of a parade."

"That would be a lot of fun," you say. "We'll try for that in the Fall. So just an afternoon in Mexico after Yuma, and then we'll back up through Yuma to head for Vegas."

"And then from there, the Timberline Lodge in Oregon," she says.

"That's another long ride," you say. "Perhaps there's something along the way we can see..."

"Oh, I think there are old ghost towns," Raven says. "Not like spooky ones, but still nice to see."

"Alright, a stop in..."

You search with your phone.

"Shaniko," you say. "Still a long way from Vegas, though. Well, it's only a little south of Mt. Hood, so we can check Shaniko out on the way down to California."

"Now that's a road trip," Raven says as she looks at the itinerary written out.

"Indeed," you say. "Now we'll be in the Sheraton, I don't think I told you that. It has the pool, but it is close to the beach, too."

"So we're at least using the pool, aren't we?" Raven says with a smirk.

"Of course," you say.
