Tlaib initially stated that she wanted to visit her 90-year-old grandmother because it might be the last time she could see her and stated in a letter she would not advocate boycotts, etc. for the duration of her trip. Isreal agreed. A bit later, Tlaib stated that her grandmother would not want her to be silenced like that as a precondition to see her and said she would not go.
Pretty sure it's unprecedented for Israel to both deny US Congresspeople to go to Israel or to set preconditions on them. And Israel also reported that they prohibited them from going to Israel on the recommendation of the US Government and Trump played coy when reporters asked for confirmation that he personally asked for that ban. Something like, "I don't want to talk about who I spoke to specifically, but I talked to people there, yeah."
So is it true or not? Sounds true based on what you wrote, but maybe I am misreading it. Did she ask to come in? They said okay? Then she said she wasn't after they agreed?
