If a guy is willing to hit on a woman, buy her a drink, take her home, and then she says, "I'm trans," well, there's no denying that the guy was ATTRACTED to her. There's no such thing as being "tricked" into something you're attracted to. You're either attracted or you're not.
Okay so what about the case where a woman finds out a man is poorer than she thought when she goes back home with him. Is she then obligated to still be attracted if she no longer is? The fact is attraction is a complicated thing and is sometimes tied to expectations and possibilities.
If that's the case then the woman was never really attracted to the man to begin with. She obviously just wanted his money.
Preference is a thing. I'm not denying that. But it's not a case of preference if you're attracted to someone and then you're suddenly not attracted when you find out the person was born the same sex. That is transphobia because obviously you believe sleeping with someone who is trans is an abomination despite the attraction.
I mean I think you're getting hung up thinking people are all assholes that aren't attracted to transgender people out of spite or transphobia. And while you might be right in some cases, I don't think applying that generalizing to everyone is fair nor helpful. It's kind of off-putting in a sense. I will say I am sometimes attracted to some.
I mean, I definitely know there are straight guys who are attracted to trans people. But I do think preference is sometimes used to defend bigotry. If I said, "I'm not into Asians" and then I date someone who happens to be 70% Asian with Caucasian phenotype but then dump them as soon as they tell me they're mostly Asian, what does that say about me?
