I come back to Bottle Up and this time I mean business. I offer $5 and she stares me down before accepting it. I grab the closest stick...and it's broken in half. I ask her what's up with that, and she tells me somebody earlier had a breakdown about losing and broke FOUR poles -- not just the one they sucked with, but then three additional poles. Dang dude, go back to throwing rings on the duckies with that diaper-ass attitude, but don't break the game.

So I grab another stick -- this one works. Before I play, there's a woman who stood the bottle but failed to keep the ring on. She and her friends are flipping out, but I knew what was coming; Duwana has to then talk them out of their excitement due to the sticky-note rule I had enforced on me the other day. Ooooooh, she's disappointed -- hate it for her. Duwana gives her a few extra tries, which was nicer than what Buddy did for me. She tries a few more time but gives up. So close.

Oh well, my turn now -- first try to nobody's surprise anymore. Duwana and Buddy openly advertise me as being good, great, not too bad, the best around, better than the game-runners...it's a range of descriptions that's ultimately trying to sell me to the people as a possibility of winning. She asks me what I wanted and I tell her the green snake. She looks at my painted face with great skepticism, but to her pleasure she has a green snake she smartly hung upside down so she didn't have to find "the winner's ladder" to pull down.

I'll tell you a boss-ass move Duwana made tonight that she didn't even bring attention to. If you ever want to do hard mode for Bottle Up, start the bottle with it laying down facing the opposite direction -- swinging that bottle around to then stand it up like the game normally should be down. I've only ever done that once, and that was an event for me. She failed to stand the bottle off of a normal attempt, but then recovered her now-turned-around bottle with no extra attention brought to that move. I bragged on her and she looked at me like I was making too big a deal of it...but nah, that's a harder move. If standing the bottle is like climbing a one-foot step, spinning the bottle around successfully is climbing a four-foot wall to get to that step -- not impossible to overcome, but a lot of people wouldn't bother because it's a lot of extra work.

Duwana also made another boss-move: when I won tonight, she asked me if I wanted to let anybody have my other turn. I immediately let the woman who stood the bottle without the ring on earlier. She appreciates it, but she still can't make the magic happen. C'este la vie.
