Oh and so was Bloodborne. I have played it since and it would now get an 8 from me in my personal preference.
Importance: 5 Fear: 6 Snake: 7 I haven't played this game yet because no PS4, but Jim Sterling once called this game where survival horror lives on. From what I've seen, I'm inclined to agree with him. The Souls series in general carries the spirit of survival horror with their games; inventory management, grotesque creatures, exploration, challenging encounters with resource drain, light puzzle solving, and many surprises mark the Souls games as survival horror more than you may think. Bloodborne's environments take it a step further for me. They're incredibly dark and grimy and foreboding. This is one of the games I can't wait to play for PS4.
