Fans have become so single-minded about needing the best player to win, and they get super disappointed when it doesnt happen. It used to be that Bob Crowley could win Gabon and the fans would award him the fan favorite prize as well. Nowadays though, you need to dominate the strategic landscape, find idols, orchestrate votes and blindsides, and make moves just for the sake of making moves, and the fans will lap it up. Ausvivor Spoilers: Female players tend to play less cutthroat than male players, and they deal more in the social game, which doesnt make for flashy television that the fans will appreciate, so the editors feel compelled to emphasize a female winner in the edit to justify them as a result.
