Why give Democrats the "Trump defying a unanimous order of the Senate" piece of ammunition if they aren't willing to go all the way and completely turn on Trump if this blows up further? Now, I think the more likely outcome is Trump caving and a return to the status quo in terms of Congressional allegiances, but I can't see any reason for Republicans to do this other than to actually take a hard-line stance on this issue. --- Oh woops.
