Squall cuts open the sealing apparatus with his gunblade, and Rinoa jumps out and into his arm, and we finally get the full hug that the opening scene teased (although it had a much prettier background than this does...!). Rinoa tries to tell him to stop because she's a sorceress, but he says that he doesn't care. At first, it seems like it'll be difficult to get out until a giant of a man dressed in Esthar clothing silently orders the soldiers to let them pass. Squall recognizes him, but he doesn't say whether he actually knows who he is or if he simply looks familiar. Back on the Ragnarok, they try to figure out what they should do next. Zell says they need to stop Lunatic Pandora since the Galbadians are controlling it and that means Seifer is behind it all. Squall says that he's just Ultimecia's puppet. Rinoa requests that they go to the old orphanage because she wants to stay away from places where there are lots of people in case Ultimecia possesses her again.
