TopicIs fallout Bew Vegas better than Fallout 4?

I don't know about Bew Vegas, but I'd say New Vegas is better than both FO3 and FO4. Possibly combined.

About the only thing FO4 has going for it as a positive is that it looks better in a number of ways than FO3/NV do using the older assets.

Oh, and I kind of like the mechanic for how power suits work in FO4, but it feels awkward after getting used to them working in an entirely different way in earlier games. Though I also like the ability to customize armor, limited as it is.

Technically the main quest in 4 allows for more "role playing" than 3's, but yeah overall 3 has more RPG elements, skills, etc.

I'm not sure I'd really agree with this much at all. The narrative is still doing its best to railroad you into playing a very specific character and doing exactly what they want you to do, like an actor more than someone actually making choices. At most, the only real flexibility you have is picking which faction to side with, and that's almost cursory for the most part.

Worse, for people who really like to get into the nitty-gritty of character personality when RPing, you're kind of fucked in both, because in one they literally show most of your childhood and spell out for you exactly how you grew up and who you grew up with (which kind of funnels you into a very specific sort of personality), while 4 goes farther and literally shows you as a parent with a specific spouse and a specific career in a specific society, which kind of typecasts you just as much.

It's not like New Vegas or even the Elder Scrolls games, where the question to "Who am I?" usually starts out with an answer of "Fuck if I know, you figure it out" from the game.

Jesus fucking Christ...just started NV and the controls are the exact opposite of fallout 4. Crouching is the reverse controls stick....and going into VATS mode is the reverse bumper button. And I cant change the controls...and I cant sprint.

This is going to be a long game...

This... doesn't seem right. I can't say for 100% sure, but when I went from NV to FO4 I don't remember there being that major a problem, and I feel like you should be able to remap controls because it's a thing I always want to do with Bethesda games (because of their stupid insistence on the idea that the Jump button should be on top (Y/Triangle) instead of on the bottom (A/X))

I'd love to see Obsidian make another Fallout game.

They did, it's called The Outer Worlds.
