Full of that suave posh lounge sound that could any area sound high-class, but it's just too slow for my liking. Still a very good sound overall. - 121st: Sonic CD (JPN/PAL) - Tidal Tempest Composer: Masafumi Ogata Score: 59/100 (6.7), Sonic CD (JPN/PAL) (22/28) A slow burner right here, it takes a while for this to get going so it's hard for me to get into it, but like Stardust Mania 1 I appreciate the overall sound a lot. Especially the rain sounds, I like the sound of rain a LOOOOOT and any song that uses it for effect gets a good bonus from me. The final part at 1:34 is definitely the highlight; the interaction of the layers here is really cool. - 120th: Sonic & Knuckles Collection - Launch Base Zone Act 1 Composer: Jun Senoue, Shigeaki Irie, Masaaki Nishizawa, Goro Takahashi Score: 59/100 (6.7), Sonic & Knuckles Collection (3/6) The intro always makes me think it's gonna go into a sort of similar march-style tune like Wing Fortress does (and that got second-to-last sooooooo... yeah you know how that would make me feel) but instead it goes into this triumphant-but-also-somewhat-somber interaction of two melodies doing a call-and-response sort of thing and that's really cool!! It's kind of lacking in a way since it sounds mostly the same over its entire loop, but that's quite alright. It's pretty cool anyway. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
