It's the same reason why I get absolutely no enjoyment out of "frustration gaming" any more. ie, games like Dark Souls where the entire design philosophy is to fail 99 times so the 1 time you succeed feels so good based on the sudden release of all the frustration you've built up. I sometimes get trapped in either a sunk cost fallacy regarding certain frustrating gameplay or it's just something I want to see through for some unfathomable reason. ParanoidObsessive posted... I've got stacks of books, DVDs, and games I bought at some point and never got around to reading/watching/playing. I have a sinking suspicion that I'll never get through more than a quarter of everything I own, even if I stopped buying things as often as I have in recent years (which is less often than in the past).
