What was the reason? Also, I liked those animatronics. They never tried to kill me or anything...
When I took my niece and nephew there, literally no one there of any age paid any attention to the animatronics. My assumption is that they're getting rid of them because they feel like they're no longer a selling point for the chain, and it's not worth paying to run and maintain them if no one actually cares about them anyway.

They've sort of already gotten rid of the games - a lot of what they have is mostly crap and ticket-dispensing stuff for crappy ticket-redemption prizes, and half the games they do have are broken.
As for the pizza, from what I saw, the pizza is absolutely terrible and almost no one wants to eat it anyway, so they'd almost be better off if they weren't stuck with "pizza" in the name of the chain.

That's what Dave & Busters is for. It's basically Chuck E Cheese for adults, where you can get better food, alcohol, and play better games.
