His goal is to throw his superiority over others, as he is perfect. The only person to show him up, although he won't admit it, his own daughter we'll cover down the road. In fact its this dialog that actually makes him anything of a character, the fact he does have flaws in not being the best at something. Though the real thing hes not perfect at?
