Prologue

Wow, this really sucks you in right off the bat. Immediately I was grabbed by the games great art style, the fluidity of the controls, and the soundtrack - its really good. I usually play with headphones and Im enjoying it a lot.

I appreciated the exchange with the old woman. For its simplicity, the game really does a nice job establishing climbing Celeste as a daunting task. I wonder if we ever find out why Madeline is trying to climb it? (Dont answer that)

This mightve been a mistake - Celeste and also me thinking about how I said Id go for 100%

Im not sure if the timer also counts time with the game paused as I had to step away a couple times. Most of my deaths came from trying to get strawberries. I had to collect every strawberry I saw, and I cant believe I only got half of them! Where were the others hiding >_> I also wonder if I get any new power ups or abilities as the game goes on that are required for all strawberries?

I debated between going back to chapter 1 for clean up or moving on. I think Ive decided just to play through all chapters first, collect what I can, then go back for the other strawberries when Im done.

A handful of deaths came from falling down to see if there were any hidden areas. I didnt discover any this way so maybe Ill stop trying for now. Also, at first I thought the winged strawberries disappeared in a set amount of time, but I realized for one of them that it stayed so long as I didnt dash. Im not yet sure if all of them behave this way or if some of the others have different conditions in which they fly away.

Movement in this game is great, the controls are fluid and fun. Man Im going to die a lot going forward >_>

The simple world building touches, like this memorial, are nice.
