The point I was getting at is, the Gundams outside the U.C. are there to satisfy an aesthetic necessity. Can't call your show Gundam without any Gundams. However their presence and power is severely undermined when compared to the original premise as there's a greater emphasis on the pilots than the actual mobile suits themselves.
