The champion is back baby! Or not. We have 2 RPG's that were very well received from both fans and critics. Undertale was EVERYWHERE back in 2015. Seriously it has such an active community and it is a game that was made from 1 guy only! I haven't played it but people that have say that it is excellent. It is not a traditional RPG and this is the biggest thing it has for it. OT came out of nowhere and it is such an old school game that it is too old school for even people that like this thing! But it did well too and a sequel got announced too.

So for the match. As you see Undertale lost. But why? People say anti votes. I don't believe it. Register users voted more for it than the unregistered ones. We all knew it wouldn't do so well now of course but this bad? Yeah Sans couldn't even score 30% on Pac Man but still. He got into Smash Ultimate! As a costume at least. We all knew that if it was against a stronger game we wouldn't pick it to win, but it is not that OT is a monster. This match also got in the top 5 of the most suprising Round 1 results and it makes sense. We rarely make Round 1 matches wrong except if we have unknown games/characters and we don't have any info on them. Sad part is that there was some kind of flame war on stats topic. Seriously people? After 5 years that barely anybody new is coming to this site? People are still pity about this sort of thing? I should known that after spending 18 years on this site but I thought we would have grown up. Not really. Also rallied games/characters do really bad without rallies. We had Draven losing to Round 1 in the previous contest and now Undertale losing to Round 1 too. So yeah. Unexpected result for sure, expected stupid bickering between some regulars on this board. So there you go.

Shovel Knight VS Dragon's Dogma

Shovel Knight won with 64.4% of the total votes. Correct Prediction Percentage was 75.64%

So another indie game here. BUT I at least have heard of it! Shovel Knight has somehow become the face of indie games. Don't know why, it just has. He has even appeared in Smash Ultimate! Not as playable character but still. I don't know anything about Dragon's Dogma but I do believe it was liked.

So for the match. Shovel Knight won easily. The only question that I have, is it the strongest Indie game here? Hard to say. It is super popular, it is like on 10 consoles or more! Damn! So many expansions, DLC and support too. Oh and all free. Yup. Big companies should learn from this. So nice to see at least some indiesthat deserve to do well doing well.

Devil May Cry 5 VS Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

Devil May Cry 5 won with 57.41% of the total votes. Correct Prediction Percentage was 69.42%

DMC 5 came recently and it was amazing. The best of all DMC games fans say. So DKC was the favorite of Board 8 here. But I don't understand why. Sure DMC games never do well and Dante everyone always says he is strong yet he never does well. Do you know that in the first every Character Contest he was in the top 10 favorites to win the whole thing? The other 9 were the Noble 9 of course. DKCTF was a game? Look I don't know about this. Sorry.

So for the match. DMC won and without any real trouble here. Now I know when in doubt go for Nintendo but here is the thing. When people think about DKC games which ones they think? Yup the ones on SNES. Which are more than 25 years old by the point. Have you heard anyone talking about any DK games after that EXCEPT if they are a big fan of the series? Yeah thought so. Same with Metroid games. People think the NES and the SNES one and the one for Gamecube. Meaning ones that are like 20 years old or more at this point. People just don't really care for other games except if they are a huge fan of the series. Maybe you say I am wrong but I stand on my thoughts. So there you go. DK get's his real power from the Smash series. Casuals beat us onto this match too.

Super Mario Odyssey VS Mortal Kombat 11

SMO.Hard to judge. It did amazingly well with sales and critical reception but where to put it with the other Mario games on this site on power? Don't know. MK 11 got in but here is the thing. From the 3 main MK games that have come out this one is the least favorite from the fans of the series. Then how did it got in? Who knows?

So for the match. SMO shattered expectations. Even 80% was considered high and it got over 85%! And yeah MK 11 isn't popular but it is from a series that EVERYONE and their fatality grandmas knows about it. So why? Is SMO that strong? To tell the truth I think yes. Seems that the 1st party Switch games are damn strong. Remember BOTW scored higher than expected too. So yeah. Maybe BOTW can beat OOT and SMO can beat SM64 for the strongest franchise games? I would like to see that to tell the truth. I guess if we have some bonus polls or something it would be nice to see. Oh and we don't care for Fighthing Games here. Except for Smash games. They are fighting games, aren't they?
