Lack of oxygen is not a bad way to go at all, but if you are not underwater (and not panicking in that state even), your body will naturally fight against it, breathing faster and faster, until you finally pass out. Not fun, but again, doesn't last that long. Put a respirator over your face and do a negative pressure test to see what it would be like without oxygen.
