did you never play the original resident evil 3?

it only ever had one character, two if you want to count the part you play with carlos, which is the exact same in both the original and remake. it never had an alternate mode, it never had different story beats, it never had any of that. it is linear. it has always been linear.

resident evil 3 wasn't ever even supposed to be resident evil 3, either. it was originally called resident evil 2.5, but then capcom got antsy with all the other survival horror games releasing at the time, and rebranded it as 3. it was made in a single year, while reusing the majority of its assets from 2.

did you think capcom just threw all those things in the trash when they remade it? no, they didn't. because they were never there to begin with.

and re3 comes with that asymmetrical multiplayer game.
